OUR CULTURE
OUR VALUES
OUR RULES.
Our values and rules exist to make sure everyone feels welcome, safe and part of the group. Please take a moment to read through them so we can ride together with clarity, respect and good vibes.
-
Caring over competition. Whether the pace is fast or slow, we ride together. Group rides are about interaction. No headphones. No podcasts. Getting to know future friends is part of the ride.
-
Have the day’s route available before the ride. A GPS bike computer is strongly recommended. If you ride without one, make sure you know the route well.
-
Our rides are led by Ride Captains who coordinate pace, safety, and group flow. Please respect their decisions. They ride for everyone’s safety.
-
We ride respectfully and minimize our impact on traffic. Two-abreast riding is allowed where legal. We never ride wider than 2×2 (except briefly while rotating). On bike paths and shared paths we slow down and prioritize safety.
-
Wednesday rides offer multiple pace groups. If you are unsure which pace you belong to, choose the slower group. You can always move up next time. If the pace is too high, let the group go without frustration. If it is too slow, respect the group, maintain the pace, and swallow your inner Gustav.
-
When rotating off the front, always pull out to the left, even in double rows. Left-side rider rotates first, followed by the right-side rider. This keeps the group at a maximum of three riders side-by-side.
-
Signal hazards, stops and changes clearly and pass them through the entire group. It makes a big difference for riders at the back.
-
Ride predictably, anticipate risks and protect the group.
Look out for weaker riders during no-drop rides and support others without being patronizing.
-
Helmet required. Lights required when conditions demand it. Road bikes only. Gravel bikes with drop bars are allowed if handlebar width does not exceed 54 cm. Flat bars and aero bars are not permitted on group rides.
-
On no-drop rides we regroup after climbs, descents and whenever riders fall behind. If you leave early, communicate clearly. Helping others with tools, advice when asked or patience is part of the Puppyton spirit.
