WE RIDE FAST.
WE RIDE TOGETHER.
WE SHARE OUR STORIES.
THE PHILOSOPHY
Even though the infamous Wednesday ride is a cornerstone of Puppyton Ride, we believe in more than just riding fastβ we believe in creating a welcoming space where cyclists of all backgrounds share their stories. Our mission is to unite Viennaβs vibrant cycling community by offering both exhilarating rides and laid-back gatherings that inspire connection and motivate your cycling journey.
Our Rides
-
For everyone, every Wednesday 17:30 in summer (16:30 in October).
The original - short & crisp. A fixed route that everyone knows by heart and can predict exactly where the attacks will take place. As a reward, we usually meet for the afterride beer at the Poidl-HΓΌttn. Before we start our ride, we form 3 different pace groups. 1. lead out (drop), 2. chasing group (drop), and 3. peloton - normally rides the shorter route and is NO-drop. Along the Danube, the ride will stay neutralized. Please read through the ride rules on the website! Find it here: Strava Community
-
Bi-Weekly on Tuesdays 17:30 in summer.
For those who want to ride together at a comfortable pace and just have fun on a shorter route. Everyone should and can participate in our Neutral Zone! The ride is specifically tailored towards those who want to gain their first experiences with group rides. There is no place here for people with big egos and annoying ambitions. Find it here: Signal Group
-
For members and friends, every Saturday 09:00 in summer.
This is the weekend edition of Puppyton Ride. Every Saturday we meet for a day out with friends. Changing routes and different distances ensure that it never gets boring. Meet the real puppies, have a long ride and enjoy the Viennese countryside - the best start to the weekend! Find it here: Strava Members
-
For members and friends, every Saturday 10:00 in winter.
This is the winter edition of Puppyton Ride. Every Saturday we meet for a day out with friends but also to build our base. The most difficult ride for a group: our goal is to stop rarely and be consistent. The rotating routes will bring a bit of adventure into your winter season! Find it here: Strava Members
-
For members and friends.
This format is an opportunity for members to switch it up and organize themselves. We have done gravel rides, participated in FrΓΌhlingsklassiker or VVV watched the ΓM and even rode across border on special occasions. Find it here: Strava Members

OUR CULTURE
OUR VALUES
OUR RULES.
-
Caring over competition! Whether we ride fast or slow, we ride together. If you'd rather ride with headphones and music or a podcast, Puppyton isn't for you. Getting to know future friends is part of the game!
-
Have the day's on your computer. A GPS bike computer is highly recommended, however we will not exclude anyone not being able to ride with a computer, but please make sure you know the route very well.
-
We ride in an organized manner and with the help of our ride captains try to make the group work well together. Respect the Ride Captainβs decision as they ensure the safety of everyone. If you want to lead a ride sometime, hit us up!
-
We try to minimize our impact on motorized traffic. We donβt provoke and donβt act aggressively. For training purposes, road cyclists are allowed to ride in two rows, side by side. We donβt ride wider than 2x2 (except for a short period while rotating turns on the front) and we may ride single-file if safety requires it. On all cycling and shared paths we slow down to avoid dangerous situations with other road users.
-
For our Wednesday Ride we create three different groups with respective speed levels (Leadout, Chasing Group, Peleton). If in doubt, choose the lower level. You can try to ride in a faster group next time. If you accidentally choose the wrong group, be fair to the others and let the group go without being mad or expecting that they will wait. If a group feels too slow for you respect your fellow riders and swallow your inner Gustav!
-
We want to ride as safely as possible. When rotating back from a turn on the front ALWAYS move out to the left, even when we ride in a double row. In this case the first rider in the left row moves out first, followed by the first rider of the right row. With this procedure we want to keep a maximum of three rows (riders) side by side.
-
Always indicate danger spots, changes, stops and pass them through the entire group. You appreaciate it when you are at the back, and so do your fellow riders.
-
Stronger riders have more responsibility. When riding in front, act like a leader and consider the dynamics of a group and avoid dangerous situations by anticipation. Actively watch out for the weaker riders in your group (applies for Saturday rides and No-Drop-Groups on Wednesday). This does not give you the right to man-splain anyone.
-
We expect everyone joining our group rides to wear a helmet, ride a well-functioning road bike and bring lights when necessary. Always being able to brake is crucial that is why we don't allow aero bars in our group rides.
-
During no-drop rides always wait on top of climbs, after descents and anytime riders that have fallen behind. If you want to leave the ride early, please communicate that clearly.
Helping also goes a long way, providing spare parts in a pinch, waiting up for slower riders or giving advice (when asked for!) is much appreciated.
